Highlights of Student Activities
- NSUT 2nd Convocation 2024-
“Celebration Tradition and Success with Sustainable Innovations”
The second Convocation of our University was held on 4th October, 2024 under the guidance of Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof Anand Srivastava.
Shri Vinay Saxena, The Honorable Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and Chancellor, NSUT presided over the Convocation. Ms Atishi, the Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi was our Guest of Honor and Dr Ajai Chowdhry, Co-founder HCL and Padma Bhushan awardee, was our honored Chief Guest. Over 1600 students were awarded their degrees in various UG and PG programs and in the Ph.D program. The distinguished alumni award was presented to Dr Kush Gulati of 1993 ECE batch. Batch and program toppers were presented with the Chancellor’s and Vice Chancellor’s awards.
- Resonanz 2024 – A kaleidoscope of colours, culture, talents and sheer fun!
The intra-college festival, Resonanz 2024, held on 17th and 18th October, was a roaring success that brought a whiff of fresh air into our academic life. Ms Ankita Anand, District Magistrate, North West Delhi and our own 2011 alumni, was the Chief Guest. A bouquet of 36 programs and competitive events was presented with great finesse during Resonanz-24, showcasing a diverse range of cultural and creative activities.
These events brought together a vibrant mix of talent from across the college, encouraging participation in music, dance, drama, literature, and more. Each event contributed to the energetic and dynamic atmosphere, making Resonanz a comprehensive and engaging intra-cultural fest that offered students a platform to express themselves and celebrate various forms of art and culture.

Debating Society - DEBSOC
Debsoc, NSUT’s debating Society, shines at Singapore MUN (SMUN) 2024 by winning the BEST DELEGATION AWARD – a first from India!
We are thrilled to announce that Debsoc NSUT represented India as the sole delegation at the prestigious SMUN 2024, securing the Best Delegation Award! Our team’s exceptional diplomacy and critical thinking stood out among participants from 100+ countries and renowned institutions like Oxford University, the University of Sydney, and Universitas Indonesia. This achievement reflects our alignment with NSUT’s mission of cultivating future leaders, as our team’s dedication to diplomacy and debate shone on the global stage.

Society for Artificial Intelligence NSUT.AI and Google Development Society
Amazon ML Challenge – second out of more than 76000 competitors nation-wide
Team ‘ART in Artificial Intelligence,’ consisting of talented members from NSUT.AI and GDSC NSUT—Chaitanya Giri, Harshit Kumar, Poojan Vachharajani, and Prasann— have once again made an impressive mark by securing second place in the Amazon ML Challenge 2024, out of more than 76,000 teams nationwide. As winners of last year’s challenge, they’ve successfully maintained their legacy of excellence in the field!
Success at Meta-Llama AI Hackathon
Chaitanya Giri and Harshit Kumar from NSUT.AI secured 2nd Runner-Up at the Meta Llama-powered AI Hackathon 2024, receiving their award from Yann LeCun, Chief AI Scientist at Meta, and Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President & Head - India at Meta! Competing alongside professionals from startups and major tech companies was an incredibly enriching experience. This achievement not only validates their work but also opens up opportunities to receive Llama grants from Meta—$100K for the India region and an additional $500K globally.
Entrepreneurial Success
We’re proud to announce that Parth Mahajan from NSUT.AI has received 20 lakhs in pre-seed funding for 4% equity, valuing his startup at 5 crores on June 2024, from the ACE Cohort by ChangeEngine, led by Varun Agarwal, founder of Aspiring Minds ($100M exit). Parth’s startup, Flowbee AI, is an AI assistant that helps CXOs elevate their brand on LinkedIn by making it easier for leaders to build an authentic and powerful online presence.
Student Societies
There are numerous societies catering to a wide range of interests. The campus remains abuzz with multifarious activities of these societies through-out the year. Any student can join and contribute to one or more societies that align with their own interests.
All societies are guided by one or more faculties-in-charge. Their plans and activities are primarily managed by students themselves who form the executive body. They seamlessly hand over charge from graduating to current students every year. Alumni also step in to guide the rules, norms and activities of these societies.
